Climate activists glue themselves to sports cars

STORY: Footage showed some protesters seated on the floor with hands pressed to the vehicles, while others unfurled a large banner reading "auto show of destruction".

The activists said they were protesting the show's "absurd" promotion of individual car use in the midst of a global energy crisis, and called for a ban on car advertisements and improved public transportation.

They also accused the automobile industry of trying to "greenwash" its image using electric and hybrid cars, which Extinction Rebellion argue also have negative implications for the environment.

The climate action group said that rising costs of fuel and electricity necessitated an improved public transportation system to help French people living in tenuous economic circumstances.
