Clinics are scheduled at Upstate locations to help families prepare for flu season

In October, Prisma Health will launch its annual Midlands and Upstate community flu vaccination campaign as part of its system-wide effort to offer protection from the highly contagious virus.

Protect your family with free flu shots available at sites in Richland, Lexington, Sumter and Greenville counties. The flu shot is available for anyone six months and older. Flu immunizations will be offered at multiple drive-thru sites to maximize community access. These sites will offer only flu shots. Limited high-dose flu vaccines will be offered for people age 65 and older.

Please wear loose-fitting clothing that can easily roll up. Face masks are required. Consent forms are required and available at each site. A valid driver’s license or photo ID also is required. There is no out-of-pocket cost to receive a flu shot. Health insurance is not required but please bring your insurance card if you have it. Children under the age of 16 require a parent/guardian signature. Flu shots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

In addition to these community clinics, there will be additional flu clinics at other Prisma Health facilities. Details on those clinics will be announced.

We want to help everyone protect themselves and their family. Getting your annual flu vaccination does not always prevent getting the flu, but it can reduce the severity of illness and save lives.”
