Clippers again without Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Patrick Beverley vs. Heat

The Miami Heat again found themselves up against Los Angeles Clippers Lite in Monday night’s game at Staples Center, with Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Patrick Beverley out.

George was listed out with bone edema of a right toe, inactive the five previous games with the injury, with the Clippers 3-2 over those five.

Leonard was listed out due to a lower-leg bruise, having also missed Sunday night’s home victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers with the injury. The Clippers went into Monday 3-2 this season in Leonard’s absence.

Beverley was listed as out for rest, on the second night of the back-to-back set.

All three also were sidelined when the Clippers defeated the Heat 109-105 Jan. 28 at AmericanAirlines Arena. The Heat played that night in the injury absence of Jimmy Butler, Goran Dragic, Avery Bradley and Andre Iguodala and others.

The Heat remain shorthanded on their seven-game trip, without Dragic (ankle), Avery (calf), Meyers Leonard (shoulder) and Chris Silva (hip). All four remain away from the team, although Leonard, who is rehabbing in Los Angeles, visited with the Heat at Sunday’s practice.

The Heat’s trip continues Wednesday night at Chase Center against the Golden State Warriors, with three other stops to follow, including a Saturday night return to Staples Center for a 2020 NBA Finals rematch against the Los Angeles Lakers.
