Clippers' Battenfield, Benson shut down Indianapolis Indians, 7-0

Thursday's game: Clippers 7, Indians 0

Recap: Peyton Battenfield tossed eight shutout innings, allowing three hits, and the Clippers blanked Indianapolis in a matinee game at Huntington Park. Battenfield (6-5), who struck out six and became the first Clippers starter to go beyond seven innings this season. Will Benson led the offense with three hits, including both his 16th home run and stolen base of the season. He finished with two runs and two RBIs and scored on a throwing error in the seventh inning where the Clippers posted five runs. Richie Palacios hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to extend his Clippers hitting streak to 11 games.
