Here are all the closings, cancellations as Hurricane Ian nears Bradenton

The following are being canceled, closed or postponed because of the threat posed by Hurricane Ian:

The Oct. 1 Salvation Army fundraising event, An Evening of Hope Gala, has been postponed. A new date will be negotiated after the storm.

The Sept. 28 Bradenton City Council meeting has been canceled. The next scheduled meeting is set for Oct. 12.

City of Anna Maria offices will be closed beginning Tuesday, Sept. 27, morning until further notice.

At the close of business Monday, Sept. 27, Manatee County Parks and Preserves will be closed until further notice.

Manatee County Public Libraries will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 27, until further notice.

Manatee County Animal Welfare facilities will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 27, until further notice.

Manatee County Building and Construction inspection services will be suspended Tuesday, Sept. 27, until further notice.

Bradenton Community Redevelopment Agency meeting scheduled for Sept. 28 has been postponed.

The Lakewood Ranch Community Development District 1 Board meeting is continued to 9:30 a.m. Oct. 4 at Lakewood Ranch Town Hall. The meeting will be held in person and via Zoom at Town Hall in Salons B & C.

The Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller office will be closed from Tuesday, Sept. 27, through Thursday, Sept. 29. The Clerk & Comptroller’s website, www.ManateeClerk.com, will be offline at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

Jury duty is canceled this week from Tuesday, Sept. 27, through Thursday, Sept. 29. For court appearances, visit the Twelfth Judicial Circuit website at https://www.jud12.flcourts.org/ for updates.

The Clerk & Comptroller-operated historical sites: Florida Maritime Museum, Manatee County Agricultural Museum, Manatee Village Historical Park, and Palmetto Historical Park, are closed for the remainder of this week. Visit their respective websites for reopening notices.

The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System will close the following locations for in-person and procedure appointments: CWBY VA Medical Center: Monday, Sept. 26 through Thursday, Sept. 29. This closure extends to the Emergency Department North Pinellas and St. Petersburg VA Clinics: Wednesday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Sept. 29, Sarasota, Bradenton, and Port Charlotte VA Clinics: Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Sarasota Bradenton International Airport: Flights: United - All flights canceled on Wednesday (9/28) and Thursday (9/29); Southwest - Flight 2312 on 9/27 will be their last departure. All Southwest flights canceled for Wednesday (9/28); Allegiant - all flights canceled Wednesday (9/28) and Thursday (9/29). The two remaining Allegiant aircraft on the airfield will depart Tuesday (9/27) morning. American - All flights canceled on Wednesday (9/28), flight 593 on 9/27 will be their last departure. The airport is scheduled to reopen at 8 p.m. on Thursday, pending conditions.

SunCoast Blood Centers will be closed Wednesday and Thursday and will assess the situation once the storm has passed and decide whether to reopen on Friday.

Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee has closed all programs on Wednesday and Thursday.

All Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance events from Sept. 27-30 postponed.

The Tidewell veterans event A Morning with Col. Mark W. Tillman scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall has been postponed.

Operation Patriot Support’s 2022 Evening with Heroes event scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 29, has been postponed.

The Anna Maria Oyster Bars will pause operations at all four restaurants Tuesday, Sept. 27 to allow staff plenty of time to prepare and evacuate. Each restaurant will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so. For the latest updates, visit OysterBar.net/Ian.

All Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance events planned for Sept. 27-30 have been postponed.

United Way Suncoast has postponed Tuesday’s inaugural R.I.S.E. and Shine Breakfast due to the threat of Tropical Storm Ian. More than 300 people were expected to gather at Armature Works to hear from United Way Worldwide CEO Angela Williams and United Way Suncoast CEO Jessica Muroff. The organization is working with Armature Works to find a new date.

The Salvation Army is evacuating the homeless shelter near downtown Bradenton. Due to typical flooding in this area, clients and staff are being transported to Rogers Garden Elementary School or Manatee High School.

The Women’s Resource Center on Tuesday closed all three physical locations in Bradenton, Sarasota and Venice in preparation for Hurricane Ian.

The Tampa Bay Urban Land Institute has postponed a case study and tour at Lakewood Ranch. The tour will be rescheduled for another date.

The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature is closing Tuesday,Sep. 27, though Thursday, Sept. 29 29 and will be reopening when severe weather has passed.

Mixon Fruit Farms, 2525 27th St. E., will be closed Wednesday and Thursday.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County have closed all locations, following the school district’s closures. Updates will be posted on their web site.

Nathan Benderson Park will be closed beginning Tuesday, Sept. 27, and will reopen once storm impacts have been assessed and it is deemed safe. The Sept. 28 Nathan Benderson Park Rec Day has been canceled.

Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium will be closed to the public until further notice Tuesday, Sept. 27, in preparation for the arrival of Hurricane Ian.

All CareerSource Suncoast offices will be closed Tuesday to Thursday this week.

The Southwest Florida Water Management District will close all District-managed campgrounds and properties to include trails and day use areas throughout its 16-county region Tuesday, Sept. 27, at noon in anticipation of impacts from Hurricane Ian.

The Jerry Seinfeld show originally scheduled for Friday at the Van Wezel Performing Hall has been rescheduled to Jan. 13. All tickets purchased for the Sept. 30 performance will be honored for the new date.

McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre is closing Tuesday, Sept. 27-Thursday, Sept. 29. McCurdy’s is also rescheduling its End by End walk to Oct. 26.
