AVERY COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – North Carolina mountain county schools are being impacted Tuesday by snowfall.
Avery County Schools are closed while Watauga and Mitchell counties will operate on a two-hour delay.
Snow exited the Carolinas quickly this morning leaving behind the breezy and gusty winds that dominate for much of this Tuesday. Temperatures are cool and chilly to start sitting in the 40s around uptown and 30s in our mountain counties.
A High Wind Warning will be in place for Ashe, Avery, & Watauga Counties through 3 p.m. this afternoon.
