Closures expected along I-55 in coming days as TDOT continues construction
Those traveling along I-55 should expect delays along the interstate in the coming days with the Tennessee Department of Transportation closing lanes for ongoing renovations.
Monday will see multiple closures, including the outside lane of I-55 northbound to the I-55 northbound ramp, Riverside Drive to the I-55 northbound ramp, Crump Boulevard to the I-55 southbound ramp, and the Metal Museum Drive entrance and exit ramps.
Those closures are expected to start at 8 p.m. and last until 6 a.m., with back up dates Tuesday and Wednesday, to allow for paving crews time to work.
Tuesday, starting at 8 p.m., TDOT crews will close the inside lane on I-55 northbound from Trigg Avenue to the I-55 northbound ramp. The closure will still leave two lanes open, however.

Looking further ahead, to Sep. 6, TDOT crews are slated to begin construction for crossovers, causing closures that will last for about four weeks.
The aforementioned inside lane on I-55 northbound will remain closed, but two lanes will still be open. Only one lane will be open when TDOT closes down the inside lane on I-55 southbound from the southbound ramp to McLemore Avenue, though. Southbound Riverside Drive will close, but the ramp to to northbound I-55 will stay open. The only other closure for that four-week period will be the Channel 3 ramp to Riverside Drive southbound.
TDOT said in a release Thursday morning detours will be posted along all closures.
