Clovis woman dies in rollover crash in Deaf Smith County

The Texas Department of Public Safety released information about a one-vehicle crash in Deaf Smith County that left one dead and one injured.

At approximately 2:50 a.m. Sunday, a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 being driven by Araceli Gonzalez-DeSaldivar, 47, of Clovis, New Mexico, was heading westbound on US 60 in the inside lane, according to a statement from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The pickup truck left the roadway and traveled into the center median. Gonzalez-DeSaldivar attempted to get back on the roadway but lost control of the vehicle. The Ram slid sideways back across the westbound lanes and off the north side of the roadway, where it rolled over multiple times. Both occupants of the pickup were not secured by a seat belt and were ejected.

Gonzalez-DeSaldivar died at the scene. She was pronounced deceased by Deaf Smith County Acting Justice of the Peace Alma Mancinas.

A passenger, Ysmael Dominguez-Vazquez, 44, of Clovis, N.M., was taken to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The posted speed limit was 75 mph, and road conditions were dry with high winds at the time of the crash, which .

The crash remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol Troopers.
