Clower announces a pair of UW tennis signings

Dec. 16—University of Wyoming tennis coach Dean Clower announced the signing of Eugenia Ceinos and Dilnaz Mashabayevato to this year's recruiting class Friday afternoon.

Ceinos, who is from Buenos Aires, Argentina, was ranked first in her region for both under-14 and U-16 age groups. She also reached a No. 2 ranking nationally in those same age groups.

Ceinos reached a top 1,200 Women's Tennis Association ranking in singles play and was 1,230 in WTA doubles. She also reached a ranking of 9.25 from Universal Tennis during her prep career.

Mashabayeva will come to UW from Almaty, Kazakhstan. The Cowgirls beat out an impressive list of schools for the highly coveted recruit.

Mashabayeva was also recruited by Arkansas State, Appalachian State, Austin Peay, Colorado, James Madison, Louisiana, Marshall, Murray State, Penn State, UMass and Washington. Mashabayeva chose UW because she liked the impression she got from the team she'd be spending the majority of her time with.

"I also like the level of study taught at Wyoming," Mashabayeva said. "That is important to me. Most importantly, I'm excited to be coached by an incredible coach in coach Clower."

Ceinos, Mashabayeva and Young will all join the Cowgirls next fall.
