Cloyd and Mary Ann Hess McNaull are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary.

They were married at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Ashland by the Rev. George Clymer on Jan. 27, 1952. They then traveled to Geneva, New York, where Cloyd was stationed prior to his assignment in Korea.

After the Korean War, they lived two years in Long Island, New York, where Cloyd finished his enlistment. While at Suffolk County Air Force Base, Mary Ann was chosen to represent the base at the premier movie showing of “The McConnell Story" at the Astor Theater in New York City, where they met many celebrities and movie stars.

They returned to Ashland where both worked for the FE Myers Co. with Mary Ann in data processing and Cloyd in manufacturing engineering. Cloyd retired after 41 years of service. He holds an honorary degree from Ashland University. They built two homes in Ashland; one in the country and one in the city. Cloyd was a private pilot and they also enjoyed boating on Lake Erie for many years. They were very active in the United States Power Squadron and the Lincoln Highway Association; traveling throughout the U.S. for many functions. Mary Ann’s hobbies revolve around her interest in electronics, and currently is enjoying her new 3-D printer. Cloyd’s hobbies have been restoring two 1965 Mustang convertibles and a 1947 Korean War Willys Jeep.

They have two daughters, Cindi (Terry) Little of Boise, Idaho, and Barbie (Denis) Lange of Ashland. They have four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Cloyd and Mary Ann are longtime members of Christ United Methodist Church in Ashland.

They will be celebrating this milestone with a family dinner.
