Ah, fashion. One of the many reasons why ladies flock to the internet to browse, comment, and sometimes buy. The entire experience can be fulfilled on Clozette Daily, a new joint venture between Indonesia’s Female Daily Network and Singapore’s Clozette.

Clozette Daily is a fashion social network targeting Indonesian fashionistas. Users can post pictures about their outfits, and create an online closet of their own. Others can comment and share their own fashions. If you like a certain item, you could buy it through a selection of Clozette Daily’s trusted third-party e-commerce sites.

The joint-venture means that both companies will be sharing expertise to make this venture a successful one. In general, Clozette powers the technology while Female Daily offers local know-how. The day-to-day operations will be done by Female Daily. The network is just one part of the story but it could also become a good data source for advertisers. The co-founder of Female Daily Network, Hanifa Ambadar, told me:

We are providing our social-savvy and influential members a visual platform for them to get connected, and at the same time gathering and providing insights for brands and our clients to tap into this affluent female segment.

The Female Daily Network, as noted when we last interviewed them, is already a profitable business. And with Clozette having just closed $1.9 million in its series A round, the venture looks financially viable, with probably enough runway to find out if the venture can work. Roger Yuen, the co-founder and CEO of Clozete said:

Indonesia is the largest market by population in this [Southeast Asia] region. The burgeoning internet and mobile adoption as well as the emergence of e-commerce in the fashion space makes it a vital part of Clozette’s vision to build a global fashion social network.

If you’re into fashion, head on over to Clozette Daily and let us know what you think.
