CANANDAIGUA, NY — The cold, gray 28 days of February and this leap year, one more of them, turn a young man’s and woman’s fancy to ... summer.

In the Finger Lakes specifically, that means fun on Canandaigua Lake and the summer concert season at Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center.

Fittingly enough, given the wintry mood, the Zac Brown Band, among the scheduled performers this year, has a song “Toes” that captures the joy of vacation and the return to life as we know the other 51 weeks, give or take, of the year.

CMAC has been releasing concert dates since the beginning of the year, so here is where the lineup stands three months before the opener.

The Avett Brothers on May 24

The Avett Brothers perform during the Americana Music Association Awards and Honors at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn., on Sept. 20, 2023. They will appear at CMAC on May 24.

New to the area? Here's more about CMAC

Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center is the official name of the Canandaigua area's outdoor concert venue. Everyone calls it CMAC.

The venue is on the Finger Lakes Community College campus, 3355 Marvin Sands Drive.

Marvin Sands, by the way, is the late founder of Canandaigua Wine Co. and among the community leaders responsible for opening the venue in 1983 as the Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center. Constellation Brands secured the naming rights to the venue in 2006, after community leaders approached Constellation Brands execs Richard and Rob Sands to save the venue and improve it.

CMAC features 5,000 covered seats and lawn seating for up to 10,000 guests.
