On Wednesday, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department identified the victim as Camron Robinson, 22.

A home was the center of the investigation Tuesday night.

According to a police report released on Wednesday, someone fired shots at the home. It’s not clear if the bullets went into the house.

Police haven’t said any arrests were made or if a suspect has been identified.

According to police, six other people were at the house when the shooting happened, including two people in their 70s.

Police still haven’t said what may have led to the shooting.

Continued gun violence

Neighbors talked to Channel 9′s Hunter Sáenz off camera, and all of them were stunned.

One neighbor asked not to show his face, but he said, “This is odd to me, ‘cause this is a really quiet neighborhood.”

Jacqueline Lewis lost her son and grandson to gun violence a few years ago, and she told Sáenz she’s spent her time since then trying to combat the senseless crimes, the latest being especially concerning because of when it happened.

“There could have been a disaster with it being Halloween night, and children out on the streets,” Lewis said.

Lewis is working on bringing her story to parents and students at local schools, saying it’s time for action.

“Our children aren’t thinking before picking up a weapon,” Lewis said. “If we don’t get a grip on this, where are we going? What are we going to do?”

She hopes to have the new program in schools by the spring semester.

CMPD investigators are asking for anyone with information on Tuesday night’s shooting to call 704-334-1600.

This is a developing story. Check and watch for updates.
