2 charged with murder in southeast Charlotte shooting, CMPD says

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department detectives announced the arrests of a man and a woman in a deadly shooting on Feb. 1 in southeast Charlotte.

Police were called to Pineburr Road around 11 p.m. that day. When they arrived, officers found Michael White, 37, shot multiple times. MEDIC said he died at the scene.

CMPD said they arrested two suspects in the case. Makayla Evans-Goodman, 18, and Marod Damont Cloud, 19, were arrested Friday and taken to the Mecklenburg County jail.

Evans-Goodman was charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Cloud was charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
