CMS, area schools, moving high school football games to avoid Hurricane Ian
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will move all of its high school football games up one day this week to avoid any weather-related issues from Hurricane Ian.
Meteorologists say the storm could bring heavy rain to the area Friday and Friday night. Tornadoes and coastal flooding are also possibilities.
CMS games will be played Thursday. Junior varsity games will be played the following Monday.
Throughout the state, schools are moving games up as the weather is expected to hit the state, and the Charlotte-area Friday. One area game, Mountain Island Charter at Winston-Salem Prep, has been moved to Wednesday.
