SINGAPORE — CNA presenter Julie Yoo fainted live on air on the news channel's Asia Tonight programme on Wednesday night (9 November).

Yoo is in Egypt covering the United Nations-led COP27 climate talks from 6 to 18 November.

Mediacorp released a statement later on Wednesday night, saying she was feeling better, and has sought medical help while being accompanied by a colleague.

"She was feeling a little unwell due to dehydration and low blood sugar," the national broadcaster said in its media statement.

"She will be resting tonight and will be back on air tomorrow. We would like to thank everyone for their concern."

Yoo also co-hosts CNA's morning show Asia First.

According to her bio on CNA, she joined the news channel in 2014, after a seven-year career at Seoul-based Arirang TV, where she was news presenter for Prime Time News from 2012 to 2014.

She was also the presidential correspondent in the Blue House during the Lee Myung-bak administration from 2010 to 2011.
