CNN airs clip of Roger Stone laying out plan to challenge 2020 election: 'Armed guards will throw them out'

On Don Lemon Tonight Monday, CNN aired exclusive footage from the summer of 2020 of Roger Stone, longtime Republican operative and confidante to former President Donald Trump, laying out the plan to invalidate the 2020 presidential election if Trump were to lose.

“What they’re assuming is that the election will be normal,” Stone said. “The election will not be normal. ‘Oh, these are the California results? Sorry, we’re not accepting them. We’re challenging them in court. If the electors show up at the electoral college, armed guards will throw them out. I’m the president. F**k you.’”

Stone would go on to accuse Democrats of scheming to commit fraud to steal the election, when in fact it was Republicans who put forth a slate of fake electors from several states that President Biden won in an attempt to steal the election for Trump.

“If they want to run a bunch of fake ballots, we’ll have an investigation,” Stone said. “We’ll say, ‘These ballots are fake. Your results are invalidated. Goodbye.’ That’s the way it’s gonna have to work. It’s gonna be really nasty. But you cannot count on — we’re not gonna get an honest election.”

GOP legislatures across the country did carry out investigations as Stone predicted they would, but no investigation found evidence of widespread fraud.

Stone released a statement challenging the accuracy and authenticity of the video.

ROGER STONE: Challenging all of it. And the judges were going to-- our judges I appointed-- [BLEEP] you. You're not stealing the election. That's what-- that's basically what Bush did to Gore.

KYLIE MAR: On "Don Lemon Tonight" Monday, Lemon aired exclusive footage from the summer of 2020 of longtime Republican operative and confidante to former President Donald Trump, Roger Stone, laying out the strategy to invalidate the 2020 election if Trump were to lose.

ROGER STONE: What they're assuming is that the election will be normal. The election will not be normal. Oh, these are the California results? Sorry, we're not accepting them. We're challenging them in court.

If the electors show up at the electoral college, armed guards will throw them out. I'm the President. [BLEEP] you.

KYLIE MAR: Though Republicans would go on to put forth a slate of fraudulent electors in an attempt to steal the 2020 election, in the video, Stone accused Democrats of scheming to commit fraud.

ROGER STONE: They wanted to run a bunch of fake ballots. We'll have an investigation. We'll say, these ballots are fake. Your results are invalidated. Goodbye. That's the way it's going to have to work. It's going to be really nasty.

- Wow.

ROGER STONE: But you cannot count on-- you we're not going to get an honest election.

KYLIE MAR: Stone, who allegedly wanted to skip voting altogether and for violence to envelop the country, said at the time that the presidency would be won in the courts. The Trump campaign would go on to attempt exactly that, only to lose dozens of cases.

ROGER STONE: Even if he wins an honest election, we're not going to have an honest-- they're going to steal. They're stealing in this blind in Florida right now. So it's not the first time it's happened in this country. And it happens around the world.

- Yeah.

ROGER STONE: So he's going to have to-- he's going to have to fight for the presidency in the courts. Our next election will be decided in the courts.
