CNN and Kirsten Powers have “parted ways” after seven years together, the political analyst announced Thursday.

Powers — a columnist who has also worked with Fox News and the Daily Beast — marked the departure by posting a series of still photos of her facial reactions during moments that caught her by surprise or rubbed her the wrong way while she was live on air.

“I would be a terrible poker player,” Powers captioned that Instagram collection. “But I brought my most authentic self to the table and did my best to serve the viewers and try and make sense of our increasingly out of control political world.”

Powers worked with the Clinton administration from 1993 to 1998 and was involved in New York City and state politics, according to her Daily Beast profile. That time included serving as former Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s press secretary during his 2002 gubernatorial campaign.

The 55-year-old pundit began appearing on Fox News in 2003, according to the conservative Federalist Society, which credits her for piercing “through partisan rhetoric” in a “media environment that has become increasingly divisive.”

Powers told the iGen Politics podcast in 2022 she left Fox News for CNN after the former outlet’s CEO Roger Ailes “imploded” and she was no longer contractually bound to the network.

“What precipitated that was this crazy-making alternate universe when [Donald] Trump came on the scene and started attacking Fox and Fox was trying to get back in his good graces,” she said. “It was too crazy for me.”

Powers said on that podcast it was “not at all” a culture shock to move from Fox News to CNN, which she credits for not being ideological.

It’s unclear where Powers will wind up next, and she has given no official reason for her departure. CNN has also made no comment.

The network has undergone multiple personnel changes including last month’s resignation of CEO Chris Licht, who succeeded former CNN boss Jeff Zucker after he left in February 2022.

CNN abruptly cut loose former anchor Don Lemon in February following sexist remarks he made regarding Republic presidential candidate Nikki Haley and gave his nighttime gig to 31-year-old host Kaitlan Collins.

The cable outlet also dumped primetime star Chris Cuomo at the close of 2021 amid controversies including claims of sexual misconduct — one of which he denies.
