Coachella Valley High School in Coachella went into lockdown for the second time in about two weeks Tuesday due to reports of a gun on campus, according to an email the school district sent to parents.

The lockdown lasted for about an hour and ended around 1 p.m., a CVHS student confirmed to the Desert Sun.

Multiple district officials were unavailable to comment Tuesday afternoon, but: "After a thorough investigation, and working closely with law enforcement, the anonymous report of a gun on campus was found to be unsubstantiated," according to an email to parents cited by KESQ.

This is at least the twelfth incident in the last several months where Riverside County sheriff's deputies have responded to a call at a Coachella Valley Unified school.

The sheriff's department didn't immediately respond to a request for information about the lockdown from The Desert Sun.

This is a developing story.
