Coachella Valley Theater guide Feb. 5-11: Action, comedy, suspense and more

This week in theater includes "KILL THE EDITOR," "Nunsense A-Men!" "Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap" and "The Scarlet Pimpernel."

'KILL THE EDITOR'

This story follows a young man named Ben, a film editor who got hired to trim down a documentary ahead of its Cannes Film Festival screening. Tasked to edit a five-hour version of the documentary, Ben only has a week to finish the job. Oh, and there's one more problem: the previous editor wants her job back.

'Nunsense A-Men!'

In this comedic musical, The Little Sisters of Hoboken will all be played by male actors. The five nuns are the surviving members of a convent who were accidentally poisoned by their cook. In order to pay for the burials, the sisters decide to host a variety show fundraiser.

'Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap'

Desert TheatreWorks adapts Agatha Christie's murder mystery about a group of seven strangers stuck at a guesthouse with a killer among them. The story follows the group of strangers trying to unravel the mystery while they are snowed-in at a countryside guesthouse. This thriller is also the longest-running play in history.

'The Scarlet Pimpernel'

This musical is based on Baroness Orczy's novel about a wealthy man named Sir Percy Blakeney who lives a secret life of rescuing those sent to execution during the French Revolution. The premise resembles a super hero double identity, as the character's wife is unaware of her husband's action-filled adventures.

Venue: Palm Canyon Theatre, 538 N. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs
