Current head cross country and distance coach Tina (Oprean) Ryee has been named director of track and field and cross country. Noah Schaub has been elevated to men's cross country and distance coach and recruiting coordinator for cross country and track and field.

Longtime Malone coach Jack Hazan is also staying on as coach emeritus for both programs.

Ryee is entering her fifth season on the Pioneers' coaching staff. She became Malone's first NCAA Division II American during the 2013 cross country season and was a national qualifier in the 5,000-meter run in track. She won multiple all-conference awards in both sports."I am excited and honored to be moving into this position," Ryee said in a statement. "These programs carry a rich tradition, and my No. 1 goal is to honor that tradition while also implementing my own unique vision. The college experience can be so transformational for a student-athlete, and I feel so honored to be given such a position."
