Coast Guard sells land next to Conanicut lighthouse. What we know.

A vacant lot on Jamestown's coastline overlooking Narragansett Bay has been sold.

The U.S. General Services Administration offered for sale by public auction the vacant, ocean-front parcel in Jamestown adjacent to the former U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) lighthouse located at Conanicut Point.

GSA marketed the parcel for sale on behalf of the USCG. Proceeds from the sale will be returned to the USCG to support their housing mission.

The property is the second site recently made available in Jamestown following Beavertail State Park lighthouse. It was announced in July that applications for the transfer of ownership of the Beavertail lighthouse were approved by the U.S. Department of the Interior’s National Park Service, with the site going to the R.I. Department of Environmental Management.
