Cobb under tornado watch, wind advisory as storm tracks across southeast

Mar. 3—The National Weather Service placed Cobb County under a tornado watch and wind advisory Friday afternoon as a storm system moved across the southeast.

Cobb is in the westernmost area covered by the tornado watch — stretching from metro Atlanta to western North Carolina and east Tennessee — which is in effect until 8 p.m.

Meanwhile the wind advisory covers much of Georgia, with gusts expected between 40 and 50 miles per hour.
