Cobras close undefeated at home

Feb. 14—HUDSON — Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute's basketball team closed out its home schedule last Saturday, with a 83-68 NCJCAA win over Denmark Tech at the Cobra Pit.

The Cobras (20-2, 8-0 Region 10, Division 1) got 16 points from Toyaz Solomon. Pharrell Boyogueno and Brandon Morgan added 14 apiece, while R.J. Black and Linwood Grandy scored 11 each.

Caldwell finished undefeated at home (13-0) for the first time in program history.

Caldwell held a 42-35 halftime advantage. Denmark (10-13, 1-5) cut the deficit to 42-40 with 12:27 remaining.

The Cobras' largest cushion was 17, on a Jalen Miller three-point play, with 31 seconds to go.

Frankie Dennard's 17 points led Denmark. Dain Parker and Jalen Wallace got 11 each.

Caldwell, with four road games remaining, visits Cape Fear on Friday evening, with tip-off at 6.
