To celebrate the upcoming premiere of "Stranger Things 3" this July 4th, Coca-Cola is bringing back an old recipe from the '80s some might remember as New Coke.

The New Coke formula first hit shelves in 1985 but was discontinued after only 74 days. While the product was initially, well, kind of a failure, Coca-Cola is hoping the comeback will be more successful.

In partnership with Netflix, New Coke will be featured in several episodes of "Stranger Things" Season 3, which will be set back in the year of 1985. According to a press release, the show's team wanted to make the setting as accurate as possible and even visited the Coca-Cola archives in Atlanta to study packaging and advertising from the year.

You can see the New Coke cans in the "Stranger Things" preview video below:

“We’re excited to partner with Netflix and play a key role in recreating the summer of 1985 in a uniquely Coca-Cola way," Geoff Cottrill, senior vice president of strategic marketing, Coca-ColaNorth America said.

Off-screen, consumers will be able to get New Coke online. It will have a limited release of 12-ounce cans available for purchase at CokeStore.com/1985, which will be included in a bundle of limited-edition "Stranger Things" Coca-Cola and "Stranger Things" Coke Zero Sugar glass bottles. The website will be open for business starting Thursday, May 23 at 5 pm, but supplies are only expected to last a couple of weeks.

Coca-Cola will also release new "Stranger Things" packages with specialized cans of the original Coke formula as well as Coke Zero Sugar. The cans will include "sip and scan" labels that will unlock chances to win various "Stranger Things" experiences as part of the "Enjoy Coca-Cola" summer campaign.

And finally, if you live in New York City, you'll have another chance to try New Coke at an event being held at Barcarde Chelsea on May 23rd at 6 pm. Join Coca-Cola for gaming, 1985 nostalgia and an "upside-down" Stranger Things-inspired vending machine.

So get to NYC or be ready by your computer for the anticipated release. While we haven't had the chance to try the New Coke formula just yet, we're betting it will be an Eleven out of 10. (Get it?)
