The below story was updated on April 14 to include a statement from Coca-Cola. The story previously stated that Coca-Cola nor the FDA has provided information about whether the recalled products have been removed from store shelves, and that they may be still available for sale.

Coca-Cola has voluntarily recalled a total of 902 cases of Powerade products because of the potential presence of a foreign metal object, specifically a stainless-steel ring. The recall was initiated on February 27 with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the investigation is ongoing.

The recalled products are:

  • 387 cases of Powerade Zero Mixed Berry with lot codes 0013098209, 0013111742, 0013111657, and 0013119902, and expiration date: NOV1124AMC

  • 149 cases of Powerade Zero Fruit Punch with lot codes 0013098209, 0013111742, 0013111657, and 0013119902, and expiration date: NOV1124AMC

These products are sold in 20-ounce PET bottles, 24 variety pack, and eight bottles of Powerade Grape within the variety pack. The products were distributed to 760 consignees in South Carolina and Florida and may have been further distributed to other states.

According to a Coca-Cola Spokesperson, “All impacted product has been removed from the market, and recall activities are complete. We took this voluntary action because nothing is more important than providing safe, high-quality products to our consumers."

"Any consumer that purchased product with date codes NOV1824 AMA5, NOV1124 AME5, and NOV1124 AMG6, may return the product to the place of purchase for exchange or refund, or can call Coca-Cola at 1-800 GET COKE."
