Cochecho Arts Festival 2022: Here's lineup of concerts, kids shows and more this summer
DOVER — Music fans can start planning now for the 2022 Cochecho Arts Festival's Friday night concerts at Henry Law Park.
The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce announced the lineup for the free summer shows during a kickoff party Tuesday night at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire’s Play Patio.
The festival, which began in 1987, showcases regional acts and Seacoast entertainers. The chamber stated it is "proud to have taken the lead in promoting the arts and community events in Dover with the belief that everyone benefits from a vibrant, healthy community."

Friday night concert headliners
This summer’s Friday night headliner shows are: July 8 (Compaq Big Band); July 15 (Los Sugar Kings); July 22 (Soggy Po’ Boys); July 29 (Whiskey Horse); Aug. 5 (Rockingham Groove) and Aug. 12 (Studio Two).
All the performances are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Henry Law Park.
In Durham: Food truck park designed for families and UNH students
New this year to the festival is "Concerts from the Patio," which is available for the headliner shows on July 22, Aug. 5, and Aug. 12). This adult-only event ticket gets you a seat on the Children’s Museum patio overlooking the Rotary Arts Pavilion at upper Henry Law Park, access to a cash bar and a snack box and use of indoor restrooms. Tickets are $15 and on sale at childrens-museum.org or at the door.
Children's Series, visual arts and a movie night
The festival's Children’s Series will be held Tuesdays July 12 to Aug. 16 with all shows noon to 1 p.m. The lineup is: July 12 (Wildlife Encounters), July 19 (Rockin' Ron the Friendly Pirate), July 26 (Wayne from Maine), Aug. 2 (UNH Theater), Aug. 9 (juggler Bryson Lang) and Aug. 16 (magician BJ Hickman).
The festival's Visual Arts Showcase will be held Saturday, Aug. 13 from noon to 4 p.m.
A movie night featuring "Encanto" will start at dusk Aug. 13.

Festival supporters encouraged to buy buttons
The 2022 Cochecho Arts Festival buttons, sponsored by Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, are available for purchase at the chamber offices or at the Friday night concerts. Purchase of a festival button for $10 each provides entry into this year's raffle for a gas grill donated by WOKQ.
The festival’s lead sponsor is Orpheum Apartments and Cowork. The stage sponsor at the Rotary Arts Pavilion is Burns, Bryant, Cox, Rockefeller & Durkin. The headliner series sponsor is Rotary Club of Dover. The movie night sponsor is Newburyport Bank. The water bottle sponsor is Kennebunk Savings.
