Coco Gauff tests positive for COVID-19, pulls out of Olympics

Delray Beach teen tennis star Coco Gauff announced on social media on Sunday that she had tested positive for COVID-19 and would be missing the Olympics as a result.

At 2:57 p.m., Gauff, 17, wrote on Twitter: “I am so disappointed to share the news that I have tested positive for COVID and won’t be able to play in the Olympic Games in Tokyo.”

There was no indication as to whether Gauff, who was a quarterfinalist at last month’s French Open, is symptomatic.
