Cocoa High closed for day following power failure

Brevard Public Schools officials shut down Cocoa High School for the day following a power transformer failure late Tuesday.

The school district has also rescheduled SAT testing that was to happen on Wednesday for March 22. Notices about the power outage were sent to families of the 1,500 students who attend the high school, located at 2000 Tiger Trail, Cocoa.

Florida Power and Light crews spent the overnight hours working to restore power following the transformer failure. Students, parents, and faculty can check Brevard Public Schools' social media platforms, including Twitter and Facebook, for updates on a reopening.
