Coffee shop, restaurant, close in Nyack, Larchmont
The beginning of the year has started with two new closures, and both spots were open for less than a year. One is in Larchmont; one is in Nyack, though the latter one will reopen under new ownership and a new name.
Company Chophouse, Larchmont
Company Chophouse, which was owned by three families and prided itself on making guests feel like they’re company, is closing Jan. 15. The restaurant, in the former Madison Kitchen spot, opened last February and served elevated American cuisine. Co-owner Nick Triscari said the closure was due to multiple issues with the rise of costs being a prime reason.
The announcement was made Jan. 11 on the restaurant's Instagram saying: "Over the course of this last year, we have had the privilege to work with, meet and serve great customers, people and friends. Our staff turned to family and our customers turned into friends. It with great sadness that we announce the difficult decision to close the doors."
All gift cards will be honored at The Wooden Spoon, the restaurant Triscari owns in New Rochelle.

Village Hall Cafe by Salonniere, Nyack
Marcella Mazzeo, who's owned her coffee salon Salonniere since 2019, opened her second coffee bar down the street in the old South Nyack Village Hall on Sept. 23, 2022. The cozy place was built around a biking theme — Mazzeo called it a quintessential Italian roadside cafe dedicated to cyclists and the community. But, due to lease issues, it closed Jan. 6. Her Salonniere space, however, remains open at 79 S. Broadway and Mazzeo encourages coffee lovers to stop by.
The Village Hall spot is closed but should reopen in about a month under the new ownership of Michelle and Alejandro Pemberthy and the rebranded name, Coffee Ride Cafe.
