Jul. 22—Mayor Paige Gebhardt Cognetti will miss her neighbors, but her family is ready for some more room.

The mayor and her husband, Ryan, are moving from their condominium at Summit Pointe in North Scranton to a home in the Tripp Park neighborhood.

The couple purchased a property at 1511 Euclid Ave. for $349,000, according to Lackawanna County property records.

When her husband bought the two-bedroom condo at Summit Pointe about 16 years ago, Cognetti said Wednesday, he didn't intend for it "to be a place where he would have his wife, his mother-in-law and his child."

"We could use a little more space," she said. "We are sad to leave our neighborhood — Summit Pointe is a great community — but we are excited to move to Tripp Park, where we have already met some great neighbors, and we can spread out a little more."
