Coker woman killed, Northport man injured in Lowndes County crash

A Tuscaloosa County woman died Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Lowndes County, Alabama troopers said.

Mikayla L. Ramsey, 23, of Coker was killed in the 10:20 a.m. crash, which also injured a passenger in her car, 23-year-old Justin E. McBride of Northport.

Troopers said Ramsey was driving a 2018 Nissan Sentra that struck a 2020 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by John C. Hill, 33, of Millbrook on Alabama 21, about 20 miles south of Hayneville.

Ramsey was pronounced dead at the scene and McBride was taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery.

No other information was released by troopers.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash.
