Freeze warning in effect for parts of our area Monday night

Wind chills in the 20s will have you grabbing extra layers early Tuesday and areas north and east of Pittsburgh could see the growing season come to an abrupt end.

A Freeze Warning has been issued for Butler, Armstrong, Indiana and the ridges of Westmoreland Fayette counties where temperatures will be cold enough to damage crops.

Severe Weather Team 11 is also tracking the first accumulating snow of the season for parts of the area, especially north of Pittsburgh near I-80 and in the mountains. Road temperatures should be warm enough to prevent widespread travel issues, but a slushy accumulation may be possible on bridges and overpasses.
