With the frigid temperatures Friday morning extending into the weekend, warming shelters are available for you and your family (and some take pets!) across the area.

SEATTLE

  • Exhibition Hall, Seattle Center Exhibition Hall at Seattle Center (301 Mercer St., Seattle 98109) Friday January 12 – Tuesday, January 16, open 7:00 pm – 7:00 am Bus routes to Seattle Center include Metro routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 13, 24, 29, 31 and 33, and Rapid Ride D Line and routes 5 and 28 from Aurora Ave N.     • On Saturday, the King County Regional Homelessness Authority said it would increase the number of beds at the Exhibition Hall to 200 after 200 took shelter Friday night.

  • YWCA of Seattle King County: Angeline’s Day Center and Overnight Program (2030 3rd Ave Seattle WA 98121) For single adult women (year-round) 7 days a week.

  • Union Station: Open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through January 16 as a warming center.

  • Bellingham Overnight Severe Weather Shelter (810 North State Street) Open continuously through 8 am on Monday, Jan. 15. During continuous operations, this facility will remain open during the day as a continuation of services for any guest who spent the previous night at the shelter and plans to spend the following night at the shelter. If a guest chooses to leave and not return, available spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Snacks Available for Guests.

  • Ferndale Severe Weather Shelter (United Church of Ferndale 2034 Washington St, Ferndale) Open continuously through 8 am on Sunday, Jan. 14. This facility will remain open during the day as a continuation of services for any guest who spent the previous night at the shelter and plans to spend the following night at the shelter.   • Lighthouse Mission Base Camp (1530 Cornwall Ave, Bellingham) Open daily. Check-in at 7 p.m. Check-out at 8 a.m. Meals, Showers, and Laundry Available for Guests.

  • Nooksack Tribe Severe Weather Shelter (Sulwhanon Community Building 2515 Sulwhanon Drive, Everson) Available for tribal members. Check 360-333-9899 for updates. Open during the day on Friday, January 12 Overnight shelter operates 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Snacks, drinks, and basic needs provided to guests.

Daytime:

  • Bellingham Daytime Warming Shelter (1013 W. Holly Street, Bellingham -former Lighthouse Mission Drop-In Center) Open: Saturday, Jan. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be transportation to and from the Road2Home winter shelter at Civic Field. Anyone who needs access to the daytime warming facility and cannot make it to the warming shelter should call 911 for help.

  • Lummi Nation Emergency Cold Weather Shelter (Lummi Stommish Hall 2295 Lummi View Drive) Available for tribal members. Open continuously through 8 a.m. on Sunday, January 14. Open 3 p.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday night January 14. Cots, blankets, warm meals, and hygiene products are available for Guests. Lummi Transit will provide transport on the Reservation to the Shelter, 360-746-9305.
