Cold weather shelters open in Hernando and Citrus counties

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Officials in Hernando and Citrus counties are opening cold weather shelters ahead of frigid temperatures Monday night.

Residents without adequate heat can find shelter in the following places:

Hernando County

Men’s Shelter

Citrus County

The Citrus County cold weather shelter will be open at Nature Coast Church in Homosassa on Monday and Tuesday nights.

Citrus County Transit will provide transportation to and from the shelter. Residents can find the bus schedule on the Citrus County shelter’s Facebook page.

Connections, facilitated by the Family Resource Center, will open early each morning so residents have a warm place to go during the day.
