The video Coldplay filmed at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, after bringing out a band of puppets called the Weirdos and taking spots at the foot of the second stage to cheer them on has been released.

Coldplay were nearing the end of the concert when Chris Martin told the crowd, "If it's OK with you, we have to quickly shoot a video" and introduced the Weirdos, whose lead singer, Angel Moon, had joined him earlier on "Human Heart."

"They're from another planet, sort of," Martin said. "And we're just gonna be filmed in the audience as well. But please, if you could just give four minutes to this young band. They're just starting out."

The Weirdos are Jim Henson creations

The Weirdos mimed along to "Biutyful," a track on Coldplay's latest album, "Music of the Spheres."

They returned at the end of the night to give the song a second pass, with Coldplay on the main stage and the puppets from Jim Henson's Creature Shop miming along for the cameras on the second stage.

The video follows the aliens who look like Muppets as they unite in the face of persecution in a culture overrun with "Humans Only" signs to become the most popular band on Earth, as a newspaper headline screams, after honing their craft in a puppet bar.

The Weirdos story peaks at Arizona concert

The scenes filmed at State Farm Stadium, complete with fireworks and a confetti shower, are at the end of the video to illustrate the level of success the Weirdos have achieved — thanks to the master plan their manager Bruce Cakemix sketches on a chalkboard.

Angel Moon has been a regular feature of the Coldplay tour, performing "Biutyful" to more than a million concertgoers across Europe, the U.S. and Latin America over the past four months.

The video is directed by Mat Whitecross, whose previous credits include a number of beloved Coldplay videos, including "Paradise," "A Sky Full of Stars" and "Adventure of a Lifetime."
