Coldwater Farmers Market opens Saturday
Coldwater Farmers Market opens this weekend, returning to downtown Coldwater for its eighth season. The market is open 9 a.m.-1 p.m. each Saturday, June 25-Sept.10.
It will remain in downtown Coldwater, at the parking lot south of city hall, as Four Corners Park is under construction. A mix of new and familiar vendors will be featured this season. Weekly entertainment returns, with Mike Dougherty performing this Saturday.
Again this year, Branch County Community Foundation will provide reusable bags for shoppers.
"We're looking forward to a great market again this year,” said Luke Bovee, market manager. “We are sticking to our mission of providing Coldwater with high-quality locally grown produce and sustainable practices and increasing food access to our community. In a time when it’s difficult to get many products, this is a great time to shop local farmers/businesses,"
Vendors at the first market include:
1971 Farm
American Flower Trends
K's Acres
Badassery Cowgirl
Hand To Hand Farm (formerly Mitten Creek)
Walnut Level Farms with beef
Ideas Galore
Jayne's Pie Pantry
The Victorian Nomad
Katie's Country Homestead
Kim Kohl
Mushroom Curiosity
Skidmore Family Farm
Naomi Graber Baked Goods
Union City Rotary Club
Vendors offer locally grown products such as fresh fruits, vegetables, maple syrup, meat, eggs, dairy, flowers, plants, baked goods, dry goods and prepared foods. A small percentage of the market includes non-food products made locally by the vendor. No mass-produced items are allowed.
Vendors may choose to commit week-by-week or for a full season, attending the market each week.
