COLDWATER, MI. — The Coldwater Legg Middle School Cardinal boys basketball teams faced off with Marshall Wednesday night in another round of Interstate 8 conference basketball.

Coldwater finished 1-3 on the night, with the lone win coming in the eighth grade “A” contest.

In the eighth grade “A” game it was Coldwater taking the win, defeating Marshall by the score of 51-38.

Coldwater was led on the night by Dracyn Foster who finished with a game high 23 points to go along with four rebounds, four steals and one assist.

Dayton Ennis also hit double figures in the victory, pouring in 15 points to along with one assist, one rebound and one steal.

Also adding to the LMS eighth grade “A” effort was Landon Dirschell with nine points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals; Mason Sabaitis with three points and two rebounds; Manuel Hernandez with one point and one steal; Finnegan Hanson with four rebounds; Dylan Smith with one rebound and two steals; Drew Vanderpuyl with one assist; Salem Abdulla with one steal; and Carter Shaffer with two rebounds.

With the win the eighth grade “A” team improves to 6-4 on the season with one game left on the schedule, a trip to Parma Western.

In the eighth grade “B” contest it was Marshall taking the victory, defeating the Cardinals by the score of 44-15.

Scoring for Coldwater was Rylan Edwards and Gabe McCown with four points each while Austin Stepp, Aiden Kutz, and Levi Katz added two points each. Stepp added six steals while Thad Timer added one point and four rebounds.

The Cardinals lost a hard fought razor thin battle in the seventh grade “A” contest, with Coldwater falling by the score of 44-40.

Individual stats were not available for the contest.

The 7th grade “A” team is now 3-7 on the season.

In the seventh grade “B” game it was Marshall taking down Coldwater by the score of 48-24.

Coldwater was led by Miles Buckley who had a huge game, pouring in 19 points to go along with two rebounds. Also adding to the LMS effort was Wyatt Boger with two points and one rebound; Carter Curtis with two rebounds and one steal; Kameron McKinney with four rebounds; Gabe Spear with two rebounds; and Kacey Thornton with three points.

The LMS Cardinals will finish out their season next Monday when they face off with Parma Western.
