COLDWATER, MI. — The Dr. Robert W. Browne Aquatic Center was host to Coldwater’s annual Drown Out Cancer event as part of Coldwater’s Purple Week this past Saturday. In all, the Coldwater Swim and Dive team raised over $700 for the Coldwater Promedica Regional Cancer Center with their tremendous fundraisers throughout the week and on Saturday.In the pool, Coldwater played host to Mason, Eaton Rapids, Marshall and Kalamazoo Central for a full day of action in the pool and on the diving board. When the day had completed it was Coldwater holding the hardware, as it was the Cardinals winning the championship of their home invitational.Coldwater came away with a pair of individual wins on the day, paced by diving ace Charlotte Calhoun who improved to 8-0 on the season on the board with her gold medal finish. Calhoun also finished in fourth place overall in the 50 yard Freestyle.Also bringing home the gold medal was Randi Dudek who took first place honors in the 50 yard Freestyle in addition to a second place finish in the 100 yard Freestyle.Klara-Sofie Bollmann also had a solid invitational, taking second place in the 100 Butterfly and second place in the 100 Backstroke.Also adding to the Coldwater championship victory was Alexa Omo, third place in the 1-meter Dive; Harper Mueller-Michael, tenth place in the 100 Freestyle and eleventh place in the 100 Backstroke; Gabby Bookmyer, fifth place in the 100 Freestyle and sixth place in the 100 Freestyle; Jossi Martinez, seventh place in the 500 Freestyle and ninth place in the 200 Individual Medley; Ayla McCowan, third place in the 200 Individual Medley and fourth place in the 100 Breaststroke; Kiraly Schoenauer, fourth place in the 1-meter Dive; Bri Barle, eleventh place in the 100 Breaststroke; Carly Krzyzanski, fourth place in the 200 Freestyle and sixth place in the 500 Freestyle; Sienna Losinski, fifth place in the 200 Freestyle and fifth place in the 100 Butterfly; and Olivia Boland, fourth place in the 200 Individual Medley and fifth place in the 100 Backstroke.Coldwater will next see action in the pool on Oct. 4 when they play host to the Lakeview Spartans.
