Cole Sprouse just debuted way lighter hair, and it's so un-Jughead

Cole Sprouse said goodbye to his black Jughead Jones hair from "Riverdale" and returned to his original dirty blonde locks.

Cole Sprouse is returning to his roots…his hair roots, that is. Sorry, Jughead Jones lovers, but now that Riverdale Season 3 has officially wrapped, the actor said goodbye to his black hair and is transitioning back to his OG dirty blonde. The actor and his new look were spotted out during his recent trip to Iceland—and we must say, he looks great. In fact, he looks a lot like his twin brother, Dylan Sprouse, again. Glasses and all.

He also shared this selfie to his Instagram Stories on Monday, April 15.

As of now, it’s unclear if this hair transformation has anything to do with a new role (since he told PopBuzz earlier this year that he’s working on a secret project this summer), or if he just wanted to take a dark-hair hiatus.

Fans appear to be having mixed reactions.

Sprouse isn’t the only Riverdale cast member to change things up recently. Costars Camila Mendes and Mädchen Amick also debuted their new summer ‘dos. Mendes got rid of her blue-black Veronica Lodge hair and went back to her natural brown, while Amick (who plays Alice Cooper), chopped off her blonde locks.
