Sprouse shared a birthday tribute to his definite girlfriend Lili Reinhart on his Instagram. It’s four photos of them kissing and making it abundantly clear that they are totally completely back on. Whether or not a summer break actually happened, which outlets widely reported from sources, only they really know.
Sprouse captioned his Instagram simply but cheekily because this is Cole Sprouse. “Lil @lilireinhart was born on a Friday the 13th and haven’t I just been so lucky since?”

His tribute comes just days after Reinhart cleared up the mystery of their relationship status in an interview with Coveteur. She told the publication that she and her boyfriend—Sprouse, naturally—were planning Halloween costumes together. “I think I’m leaning in towards a character for Halloween,” she said. “I think I’m going to do it with my boyfriend, Cole. I don’t want to spoil it if it’s not going to happen, but it’s a TV duo.”
Sprouse talked to W magazine earlier this summer (during the height of their breakup speculation) about their relationship and how he wanted it to evolve in private.
“Until you go through the paces and the dating stages and know that something is right for you, I don’t think it’s appropriate to bring others in,” he said. He did acknowledge that their off screen relationship added more intrigue to their on screen one as Riverdale’s Betty and Jughead. “I think part of the fun that the audience had, and still has, is going: What’s up with them right now? It’s interesting!” He said with a laugh. “But in all honesty, my own happiness and her happiness come before caring about what people are saying.”
Of Reinhart, he said generally, “Lili is an incredibly talented individual who speaks for herself and deserves her own voice box in every single way,” he said. “That alone is justification enough for me to do it like this. I don’t think we’re weaving two different narratives here.”
Last year, by the way, Sprouse shared a topless photo of Reinhart to mark her birthday. It was one of his most intimate public tributes to her.
