Have you run for elected office before? (Please list previous offices sought or held)

Yes, I am currently in my first term as Cornelius Town Commissioner.

Please list your highlights of civic involvement

I currently sit on many committees, including Parks and Rec, LKN Chamber of Commerce, Visit Lake Norman and the Land Development Code Advisory Board. We have been able to take a 16 month ‘time out’ for residential growth while we updated the Land Use Plan. Growth Management is still a high priority.

What are, in your view, the most important issues facing Cornelius, and what would your approach be to handling them if elected?

Infrastructure and growth and our biggest focus. Continuing to drive NCDOT on the pending road projects and to be very deliberate in any additional building with remain my priority.

Communities across Mecklenburg County have seen growth and development as well as a hot real estate market in recent years. How should Cornelius approach development and housing issues?

We continue to focus on business growth. High density residential is not what we are looking for right now.

What separates you from your opponent(s)?

I ran on a platform of listening more and focusing on growth management. I have done both of those and more. My commitment to this town is paramount and will continue if I am re-elected.

What one professional or political accomplishment are you most proud of?

Increasing Fire, Police and Town staff pay to help drive recruitment and maintain current staffing to have the best team in the state!
