College men's soccer: Perry, Yellowjackets top Vikings in overtime

Apr. 11—Blake Perry scored on an assist from Dylan Hanegraaf 76 seconds into overtime to lift Wisconsin-Superior to a 6-5 victory over Bethany Lutheran in UMAC men's soccer match Saturday before 75 at NBC Spartan Sports Complex in Superior.

Perry and Scott Wilson scored two goals apiece to lead UWS (4-0 overall, 3-0 UMAC) while Max Busch and Thijs Middledorp scored two goals apiece to lead the Vikings (0-1, 0-1), playing in their season opener.

After UWS' Phillip Eriksen scored at 76:40 on an assist by Perry, Busch forced the overtime with a goal at 80:30 on an assist by Middledorp.

That set the stage for Perry's heroics as the junior forward from Anoka, Minnesota, put it away with his team-leading sixth goal of the season.

The Yellowjackets are off until a 3:30 p.m. Wednesday UMAC contest against Crown at NBC Spartan Sports Complex.
