Messiah

Omicron Delta Kappa

Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, welcomed 626 new initiates from 23 universities during December 2021. From Somerset County are, McKenzie Mitchell of Somerset, Duquesne University, and Kamber Kern of Stoystown, Duquesne University.

Students initiated into the society must be sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate/professional students in the top 35% of their class, demonstrate leadership experience in at least one of the five pillars, and embrace the ODK ideals. Fewer than five percent of students on a campus are invited to join each year.

Omicron Delta Kappa Society, the National Leadership Honor Society, was founded in Lexington, Virginia, on Dec. 3, 1914. A group of 15 students and faculty members established the society to recognize and encourage leadership at the collegiate level. The founders established the ODK Idea-the concept that individuals representing all phases of collegiate life should collaborate with faculty and others to support the campus and community. ODK's mission is to honor and develop leaders; encourage collaboration among students, faculty, staff, and alumni; and promote ODK's leadership values of collaboration, inclusivity, integrity, scholarship, and service on college and university campuses throughout North America. The Society's national headquarters are located in Lexington, Virginia.

Mount Aloysius

Mount Aloysius College announced the dean’s list for the fall semester of 2021. The dean’s list honors full-time students who have earned at least a 3.50 grade point average (GPA), part-time students who have achieved a GPA of 3.70, or students enrolled in six to eight semester hours who earned a 3.9 GPA.

Shippensburg University announced the names of the outstanding undergraduates who have earned the distinction of being named to the dean's list for the fall 2021 semester.

East Stroudsburg

A total of 1,222 students, including Haley Stickle, a public health major from Somerset, have been named to the dean's list at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) for the fall 2021 semester of the 2001-2022 academic year.

Kutztown

More than 1,920 students have been named to the fall 2021 dean's list at Kutztown University. To be eligible for the dean's list, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60. From Somerset County is Allison L. Fidler of Central City.

University of Alabama

Benjamin Geary of Somerset was named to The University of Alabama Presidents List for fall semester 2021.

Gannon

Cara E. Bako, Meyersdale, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Gannon University in Erie. Bako is a sophomore enrolled in the 3-3 Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
