College roundup: St. Lawrence outlasts Utica in five sets at Oswego Invitational
Sep. 17—OSWEGO — Julia Giroux supplied 23 kills to lead the St. Lawrence University women's volleyball team to an 11-25, 25-18, 25-18, 20-25, 15-8 victory over Utica College on the opening night of the SUNY Oswego Invitational on Friday.
Adeline Riesenberger added 13 kills for the Saints (2-7 overall) and Lily Snide supplied 35 assists.

Alyssa Adams supplied 11 kills to lead SUNY Canton in a 28-25, 25-20, 25-21 loss to Elmira in Canton.
Michaella DeCapua added 13 assists for the Kangaroos (0-4).

Clarkson (3-4) opened a tournament at Hope College in Holland, Mich., with a 25-16, 26-24, 25-23 loss to Elmhurst.

Kristin Werdine led Clarkson with six kills in a 25-14, 25-13, 25-15 loss to Hope in Holland, Mich., late Friday.
Isabelle Crow led Clarkson (3-5) with nine assists.

Morrisville scored 10 straight points to start the second half and edged the Saints (1-2) in a nonconference game Friday night at SLU.
Owen Cole kicked a 20-yard field goal in the third quarter to give the Mustangs (3-0) a 10-9 lead.
Steven Frerichs scored on a 1-yard run midway through the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 17-9.
Peyton Schmitt scored on a 3-yard run in the second quarter and Clayton Folger kicked a 24-yard field goal late in the first half to give SLU a 9-7 edge.
Daniel Lawther scored on a 2-yard run in the fourth quarter for the Saints.
