West Texas A&M's Jahmaal Wilson broke a 28-year old NCAA Division II record on Sunday at the Buffs' Last Chance meet in Canyon.

The freshman is now the DII record-holder in the 110-meter hurdles after posting a time of 13.35. That time broke the previous record of 13.37 set in 1994 by Brian Amos.

Wilson's DII record is tied for 25th all-time among all college levels.

The Buffs will find out about their selections to the NCAA Championships on Tuesday.

WT baseball heading back to NCAA D-II Playoffs

A rain delay Friday, a win Saturday, and a loss Sunday made for quite an eventful weekend for the WT baseball team.

Making it back to the DII postseason to cap it off was eventful in itself.

After finishing Friday's weather-delayed game against St. Edwards with a win on Saturday, the Buffs were defeated in the Lone Star Conference Finals on Sunday. However, a No. 15 ranking helped ensure that WT would be heading to the DII Playoffs for the eighth consecutive season.

The Buffs were selected as the third seed in the South Central Regional on Sunday night and will head to Grand Junction, Colorado, to begin their journey. It will be a double-elimination tournament with WT taking on second-seeded Colorado Mesa and sixth-seeded St. Edward's.

Should the Buffs advance out of the Regional they will take part in a Super Regional to be held May 27-29.
