These colleges were named the best in North Carolina. See if your alma mater was listed

Out of the 82 four-year colleges in North Carolina, three in the Charlotte area were named among the best in the state.

Davidson College, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Queens University were among the top 15 2023 Best Colleges in North Carolina in Niche rankings.

The schools were picked based on multiple factors, including academic, admissions, costs, and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education and millions of reviews from students and alums.

Duke was ranked best in North Carolina, with an A+ for its academics, diversity, athletics, and value. Davidson was second on the list for academics, diversity, and athletics.

“Davidson is a great school with lots of interesting and cool opportunities! It is an extremely rigorous academic environment with high standards for the quality of work and level of participation,” a Niche review of the school read.

UNC Charlotte was No. 9 on the list, and Queens was 13th.
