Collier County School Board approves new high school boundaries

The Collier County School District's new high school, Aubrey Rogers High, which will open in August, now has attendance boundaries.

In a 4-1 vote, the school board approved the new boundaries, along with changes to three other high school boundaries, during their meeting on Jan. 10. Board member Tim Moshier was the only one against the new boundaries.

The schools impacted are Gulf Coast High, Barron Collier High and Palmetto Ridge High.

The purpose of the new boundaries is to create a boundary for Aubrey Rogers High and ease capacity concerns at Gulf Coast High and Palmetto Ridge High.

Rising juniors and seniors are guaranteed the option to complete high school at their current school, however no transportation will be provided by the district. Parents will need to apply for parental choice by February 19.
