With its 16-game, regular-season win streak on the line, Collierville had to turn to backup quarterback Logan Johns when Aidan Glover went down with an injury in the second quarter.

Between Johns and Noah Flaskamp, Collierville was able to score 20 unanswered points to defeat Germantown 20-6 on Friday night at Dragon Stadium.

The Dragons dominated the second half. Germantown didn’t have much success on the offensive end in the second half as it was also without its starting quarterback, Isaiah Tate. Several players played under center, including Kion Threalkill, Jamarion Morrow, Israel Tate and Tristan Colenberg.

The first half was nearly all defense. Two Oziel Hernandez field goals, including a 40-yarder, to help the Red Devils build a 6-0 lead, but Collierville responded on the ensuing possession with an 80-yard drive in less than a minute, capped with Flaskamp’s 26-yard touchdown reception from Johns to tie it 6-6 at halftime.

It was the first of two TD connections for the pair. Flaskamp finished with 96 receiving yards. Johns was 16-for-23 with 202 yards.

Germantown was handed its second straight overall and region loss, knocking it out of contention for a region title.
