- Well, a detention officer has won his job back after being fired over the death of an inmate at Collin County's jail. Marvin Scott died last month after being restrained, pepper-sprayed, and forced to wear a spit hood. Sheriff Jim Skinner fired seven detention officers who he said violated department policies. Six of them appealed their terminations. One of them won his appeal last week. Sheriff Skinner said today he disagrees with the decision and is considering his options. The Texas Rangers, by the way, are still investigating Scott's death.
